Editors Note (Ralph Turchiano) I posted this here, as an example of how a very minor change in dietary behavior can alter a life form epigenetically just as negatively as a biological agent or environmental toxin. As light hearted and non threatening as it appears, the prospect of altering a society permanently through a slight negative behavioral influence is chilling.
We review the recent study ” Diet-induced extinctions in the gut microbiota compound over generations ” . Even though extinction is a fairly dramatic term, I am not so certain it is an inappropriate statement. Scientist here allude to that there is a possibility we are altering our inherent biology within a single generation through poor dietary choices for the worse.
